Biography
East German heavyweight lifter Michael Hennig won the silver medal at the 1980 Europeans and qualified for the 1980 Moskva Olympics. He competed in the heavyweight I class and placed an unfortunate fourth. The graduated civil engineer later worked in technical administration with Commerzbank at Dresden. Hennig also became a weightlifting coach at Dresdner SC.
