Biography
West German middleweight lifter Norbert Bergmann placed ninth at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. In 1977 and 1978 he won the West German national titles in the middleweight class, and in 1984 at light-heavyweight. In 1980, Bergmann was nominated for the Moskva Games, but could not participate due to the US-led boycott of the Western bloc countries, and in 1984 could not start due to an injury.
