Biography

Tetsuhide Sasaki graduated from Chuo University, where he became a decent weightlifter. Sasaki soon became part of the Japanese national team, winning silver in the flyweight at the 1966 Asian Games in Bangkok. A few years later he earned himself a place on the Olympic team for the 1972 Games in München, where he narrowly missed out on a medal, placing fourth with a total of 322.5 kg.
