Biography

Swedish weightlifter Stefan Jacobsson began his career in the mid-1960s and had international success during the following decade. From 1974 to 1979 Jacobsson competed at multiple international competitions including three editions of the World Championships and four editions of the European Championships. In 1976 he finished sixth in the light-heavyweight division at the Montréal Olympics. He was a five-time Swedish champion, setting 11 national records and wining the Nordic championship on two occasions. Jacobsson continued his weightlifting career for many years, becoming a noted masters competitor and ultimately being inducted into the World Masters Hall of Fame in 1999.
