Praha (Prague)-born Austrian wrestler Franz Foidl took part in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He lost his Greco-Roman light-heavyweight bouts to the eventual Estonian bronze medallist August Neo, and fourth-placed Werner Seelenbinder from Germany. Foidl was then eliminated in the fourth round of six.
