Biography

Franz Pitschmann was an Austrian wrestler and four-time Olympian from 1976 at Montréal to 1988 at Seoul. He competed first in middleweight, and later in light-heavyweight and heavyweight. His best result came in 1984 with a fifth place. Pitschmann won a bronze medal at the 1981 World Championships and a silver at the 1986 Europeans. Pitschmann also won 30 Austrian national titles in total and 11 medals in senior masters competitions.
