Biography

Ambrogio Bessi won two Italian titles with Ginnastica Triestina, winning in 1940-41. His first appearance with the Italian national team was at the 1936 Berlin Olympics where the Azzurri finished seventh. In the match against Germany, the Azzurri scored 58 points, its best at Berlin. Bessi played at the 1937 European Championships in Riga (Latvia) where Italy finished second, losing in the final against Lithuania. Bessi earned 21 international caps, scoring 20 points.
