Biography

Édouard Martin, who was a French Champion in amateur wrestling, competed in the middleweight B at the 1912 Olympics Greco-Roman tournament. In the first round he met the future finalist of Sweden, Ivar Böhling, and retired after 45 minutes of wrestling. Mobilized in 1914, he rose to the rank of lieutenant and received the Croix de Guerre after being wounded three times. In 1940, he returned to service as a volunteer, then entered the service of the Resistance as a simple soldier, although he was 58-years-old. He was made Knight of the Legion of Honor and received the Medal of the Resistance
