Jürgen Luczak was a featherweight freestyle wrestler who was eliminated in the second round at the 1968 Mexico City Summer Games. That same year, he won a bronze medal at the European Championships. At the 1967 Worlds in New Delhi, he finished fourth. In 1968 and 1969 he won his only two East German national titles. Luczak later studied sports at the DHfK in Leipzig and became a graduated sports teacher, and wrestling coach, in Rostock.
