Bantamweight wrestler Wolfgang Radmacher lost his first bout by a fall at the 1972 München Olympics. In his next bout he was disqualified, along with his Czech opponent Jan Neckář, due to passivity. He was then eliminated having reached eight bad points. The same year he won his only East German national title, and finished fourth at the European Championships. By profession, Radmacher was a graduated sports teacher who moved to West Germany after re-unification. He also coached at regional wrestling clubs.
