Biography

Gustav Gocke was a West German wrestler who competed in the welter- and middleweight class. He participated in both styles at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. In Greco-Roman he finished seventh and in the freestyle he was fourth. With ASV Heros Dortmund he won the West German Team Championship five times in 1949, 1951 and 1953-55. Individually he won five national Greco-Roman titles, in 1941 at welterweight and at middleweight in 1943, 1949-50 and 1953. Gocke also won national freestyle titles, at welterweight in 1941 and middleweight in 1951.
