Biography

Manfred Schöndorfer was a world class Greco-Roman lightweight wrestler, but won only one international medal, a bronze at the 1970 European Championships in Berlin. He was unfortunate to occupy fourth place at several major events, including the 1972 München Olympics, 1973 World Championships in Tehran, and both the 1974 and 1975 Europeans. At the Montréal Olympics in 1976 he was placed sixth. From 1970-76 Schöndorfer won seven West German national titles in a row. He later trained as a physiotherapist and massage therapist, and went on to own several sports and fitness studios.
