Biography

Hashem Kolahi was an Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler and coach. Kolahi competed in the light-heavyweight class at the 1976 Montréal Olympics where he was eliminated in round three after losing to the eventual bronze medallist Czesław Kwieciński in just 12 seconds. He had better fortunes, however, at the 1981 Asian Wrestling Championships in Lahore, Pakistan when he won gold in the 100kg freestyle. After his career he coached various teams in domestic league competitions, in addition to coaching the Iranian national team.
