Besides the 1952 Olympic freestyle welterweight bronze, Abdollah Mojtabavi also won the freestyle welterweight bronze at the 1951 World Championships and the freestyle lightweight silver at the 1949 European Championships, the only time Iran was allowed to compete at the European Wrestling Championships. After finishing his sporting career, Mojtabavi worked as a wrestling coach. He was the head coach of the Iranian 1956 Olympic wrestling team.
