Gheorghe Berceanu was a Romanian wrestler who won gold and silver at the 1972 München and 1976 Montréal Olympics respectively, both times in the Greco-Roman light-flyweight class. Berceanu also won the 1969 and 1970 World Championships, and added a silver medal in 1975. At the Europeans he won the title in 1970, 1972, and 1973, and, at the 1973 Summer Universiade, he added another major title. Berceanu later became a wrestling coach at Steaua București. He died of a heart attack In August 2022.
