Biography

Valeriu Bularcă was the first Romanian to win a major international medal in wrestling, earning a bronze at the 1958 World Championships. He improved that in 1961 when he became World Champion in Greco-Roman at 73 kg. Bularcă competed at two Olympic Games, winning a silver medal in 1964. He was a six-time Romanian Champion. Bularcă started wrestling with CS Steagu Red Braşov but later moved to CS Dinamo Braşov. He later became a wrestling coach with CS Steagu Red Braşov and was made an Honored Master of Sports in Romania.
