Biography

Alioune Camara, also known by his nickname of Boy Bambara, was a Senegalese wrestler who competed during the 1970s. In 1971 Camara won bronze in the -90 kg freestyle event at the African Wrestling Championships to earn himself a place on the Olympic team. At the 1972 München Games he competed in the freestyle light-heavyweight, but lost to Raúl García (MEX) and Étienne Martinetti (SUI) to be eliminated from the competition. Following his competitive career Camara was as a coach for the national team before working as an instructor at the National Police Academy.
