Biography

Bounama Touré wrestled super-heavyweight Greco-Roman for Senegal at the 1992 Olympics. In Africa he was among the best wrestlers, winning a silver medal in unlimited Greco at the 1992 African Championships. He also won two bronzes at the 1985 African Championships, in both freestyle and Greco-Roman, and added a bronze in unlimited Greco-Roman at the 1991 All-African Games. Touré was also known in Senegal as Toubabou Dior. He later formed a wrestling school that bore his name and taught many young Senegalese to wrestle.
