Biography

Although Bruno Åkesson was born in Malmö, he represented Stockholm’s Djurgårdens IF. At the 1912 Olympics, he lost his first bout in the Greco-Roman featherweight class against Norway’s Mikael Hestdahl by decision. In the next round, he defeated the Briton Alf Taylor, again by decision. Although he advanced to the next round, he withdrew from the tournament.
