Biography

Beryl Preston was the daughter of Sir William Wilkinson, and she was just three months old when her mother died. In 1921 she married Kenneth Preston and at the 1936 Olympics she was one of the six crew members aboard her husband’s boat Saskia, in the 8-metre event. After showing early promise, finishing fourth in races one and two, they never managed such a highly placed finish in the remaining races and finished sixth overall.
