Frances, the daughter of Canon Greenstock, was the second wife of Charles Rivett-Carnac. When she crewed aboard her husband’s Heroine in the 7-metre class at the 1908 Olympics they became the first married couple to win Olympic gold medals. Her step great-granddaughter Cleone Patricia “Cleo” Rivett-Carnac won a bronze medal representing New Zealand in javelin throw in the 1950 British Empire Games.
