German sailor Jörg Fricke partnered Hans Vogt in the two-person keelboat Star class at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, finishing sixth. They qualified for the Games as German champions that year, and retained their national title the following year.
Fricke finished an apprenticeship as an insurance clerk, studied communication sciences, and obtained his diploma in communications in May 1992. The subject of his thesis was “Sponsorship in Sailing”.
