In the 1964 Flying Dutchmen event, Stig Käll and his brother Lars stopped one of their races to help rescue the Australian team of John Dawe and Ian Winter, after their boat had capsized. For this unselfish act, in 1967 they were awarded the International Fairplay Award by the IOC.
