Biography

Poul Mik-Meyer was a Danish sailor who represented Skovshoved Sejlklub in Gentofte where he competed in both the Soiling and Star classes. Mik-Meyer had a partnership with the great Paul Elvstrøm, with the pair winning the world championship in the Star in 1967. The following year the duo just missed out on an Olympic medal when they finished fourth in the Star at the 1968 Mexico City Games. The two Danish sailors then joined forces with compatriot Niels Jensen in the Soiling class, with the trio becoming world champions in 1969 and European champions in 1970.
