Biography

French sailor Patrick Rieupeyrout spent his entire life in the boating industry. While in his early 20s Rieupeyrout was part of the three-man crew that sailed in the Dragon event at the 1972 München Olympics, with the French team finishing in 18th place. Following his competitive career he moved into manufacturing, directing the company Barlow Marine Europe from 1979 to 1987. He then joined the French boat building company Harken, working there until 2021. Rieupeyrout also worked for the Grand Pavois boat show in La Rochelle and organised multiple yachting events. He was the company’s director from 1995 to 1997, then their secretary from 1997 to 2004, before finally becoming their Vice-President.
