East Germany’s Roland Schwarz sailed in the three-person keelboat Soling class at the 1972 München Olympics with Werner Christoph and Lothar Koepsell. The boat, from SC Berlin-Grünau, finished 14th at Kiel. Berlin-Grünau was the most successful sailing club in the former GDR. With Koepsell, Schwarz won ten East German national titles.
