Sándor Sebők was born into a noble family in Veszprém. Due to the closeness of Lake Balaton, he became obsessed with sailing. After the First World War,where he served as a lieutenant, he worked as a bank officer, deputy director of Budapest Székesfővárosi Községi Takarékpénztár Rt. He participated in the 1928 Olympics as a sailor of the Magyar Királyi Yacht Club.
He later lived an active social life. In addition to his sports career, he was executive director of the club, secretary general of the Sailing Association, member of the MAC motorsport department, member of the National Sports Committee, and editor-in-chief of Mast, then Water Sports.
He was the main organizer of the 1935 Balaton Dinghy European Championship.
After the Second World War he left for Argentina, where he was an extremely active member of the Hungarian community. Until his death he was the vice-president of Centro Hungaro.
In 1952, he was the victim of a murder on his property in Buenos Aires.
