Serbian basketball player Dragan Kapičić had a lengthy domestic and international career. Kapičić began his club career in 1965 with Crvena Zvezda, which saw him win the FIBA Saporta Cup in 1974, along with two Yugoslav League titles (1969, 1972) and three Yugoslav Cups (1971, 1973, 1975). After more than ten years with the club he joined the German team Saturn Köln in 1977, winning the German League title in 1981.
Kapičić enjoyed international success with the Yugoslavia national team, winning gold at the Basketball World Cup in 1970, followed by silver in 1974. At the EuroBasket championships he won silver in 1969 and 1971, before winning gold at the 1975 tournament. He was also part of the squad that finished fifth at the 1972 München Olympics, playing in nine matches and scoring 79 points. After his playing career Kapičić served as the first President of the Basketball Federation of Serbia from 2007 to 2011.
