Biography

Ron Crawford competed as a walker at three Olympic Games, Melbourne 1956, Roma 1960 and Tokyo 1964. His best finishes were 11th in the 20K at Roma, and also 11th in the 50K in Tokyo. Crawford won one Australian title, in the 1961 10,000 track event, which was discontinued after that year at the Australian Championships. Crawford became a Life Member of Randwick Botany, Athletics NSW, and Athletics Australia. He was made a member of the Order of Australia.

Personal Bests: 20kmW – 1-34:08 (1964); 50kmW – 4-24:20 (1964).
