Biography

Alex Hillhouse was a talented Australian middle-distance runner who was active during the 1930s. Hillhouse was selected to compete at the 1930 British Empire Games in Hamilton, Ontario where he won silver in both the three miles and the steeplechase. He continued to have success in Australia where he became the national champion in the mile and three mile events in 1932. These results secured him a place on the Olympic team for the 1932 Los Angeles Games, with him finishing tenth in the 5,000 metres.
