Biography

At the 1924 Australian athletics championships Roy Norman finished second in the 440 yards and third in the 880 yards to earn himself a place on the Olympic team. Norman then competed in the 200, 400, and 800 metres at the Paris Games where he made it to the quarter-finals of the 200 and 400. After the Olympics he spent time in Europe travelling through Italy and Switzerland prior to heading to England to compete in some races, before making his way home in late August. Norman then competed at the 1926 Australian championships where he became the national champion in the 440 yards, in addition to finishing as runner-up in the 880 yards.
