Athlete Klaus Ehrle was Austrian champion in 400 metres (1986 and 1987) and 400 metre hurdles (1987-91). He qualified for the hurdles at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Summer Games but was eliminated in the semi-finals. Domestically, Ehrle won the national 400 metre hurdles titles from 1987-91, and five indoor and one more 800 metres title.
Ehrle also participated at the 1987 World, and 1987 and 1988 European Indoor Championships. On each occasion he failed to reach the final. Ehrle was affiliated with ULC Dornbirn.
