Biography

Middle-distance runner Franz Eichberger was Austrian 800 metres champion four times in 1935-1937 and 1939, and was the 1500 champion in 1936. He also won several relay titles: 4×400 (1936, 1938-39), 4×1,500 (1937), and 3×1,000 (1939 and 1942). Eichberger participated in the 1936 Berlin Olympics over 800 and 1,500 metres. He reached the 800 semi-finals but was eliminated in the heats of the 1,500.

Personal Bests: 800 – 1:52.5y (1937); 1500 – 3:57.4 (1939).
