Austrian Emil Janausch placed 10th in the 1932 Olympic discus throw. Four years later in Berlin he was eliminated in the qualification rounds in both the discus and hammer. He finished eighth in the 1934 European Championships discus throw. During his career Janausch won 24 Austrian titles in shot put (1923-27, 1933), discus throw (1929-34, 1938), and hammer throw (1929-39).
