Austrian sprinter Thomas Renner was national champion in 200 metres (1991) and 4×100 metres relay (1988-91). He qualified for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics with the 4x100 metres relay squad reaching the final and placing seventh. In 1993, Renner was banned for two years for doping with methandienone and, as a result, his career ended.
