Biography

Franz Sterzl was a four-time Austrian champion in decathlon in 1932, 1935-36, and 1938. At the 1936 Berlin Olympics he retired after the eighth event (pole vault) and was listed as DNF. Domestically, Sterzl represented Weiß-Rot-Weiß Wien (Vienna).
