Austrian track & field athlete Hermann Wraschtil participated in the 1900 Paris Olympics. He reached the final of both the 2,500 metres steeplechase (finishing fifth), and 1,500 metres (sixth). He also won the 2,500 metres steeplechase handicap race. In 1899 and 1900 Wraschtil was the Hungarian Champion over one mile, and Bohemian Champion over 1,500 metres.
Wraschtil later was one of the co-founders of the International Association of Athletics Federations IAAF. He was also president of the Austrian Athletics Federation from 1920-38 and 1945-50. In addition, he was president of the Vienna Cricket and Football-Club before World War II.
