Biography

Track and field athlete Sepp Zeilbauer was the Austrian champion in the 110 metres hurdles (1974, 1978-79), pole vault (1975-76), pentathlon (1971), and decathlon (1973-74, 1976, 1978, 1981). He participated in three editions of Olympic Games in decathlon from 1972 at München to 1980 at Moscow. He placed ninth in 1972 and fifth in 1980. At Montréal he did not finish as he had no valid mark in pole vault.

In 1977 and 1981 Zeilbauer won the prestigious Götzis Hypo-Meeting, and he also had a second and third place finish in Götzis. Zeilbauer became a graduated teacher at Graz and taught sports and philosophy.
