Joseph Aelter was a Belgian sprinter who competed in the 100 and 200 metres. Aelter was the Belgian record holder in the 100 metres from 1912 to 1923 and was the national champion in the event in 1912 and 1913. Representing White Star Athletic he competed in both sprint events at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. In the 100 metres he reached the semi-finals but was eliminated in his opening heat in the 200 metres.
