Belgian athlete Auguste Broos specialised in long-distance and cross-country races, winning two national titles, and competing at two Olympic Games. At the 1919 Inter-Allied Games Broos won the silver medal in the 10,000 metres cross-country race. The following year he won the Belgian cross-country title and finished in fourth place in the marathon at the Antwerpen Olympics. In 1921 Broos finished in second place in the national cross-country race before winning his second Belgian title in 1922. At the 1924 Paris Olympics he again ran in the marathon, where he finished in 20th place.
