Biography

Maurice Henrijean was a Belgian track and field athlete who competed in the pole vault. Henrijean won five national titles in the event (1923–24, 1926–27, 1933), and set a Belgian record of 3.66 metres in 1922. He participated at the 1924 Paris Olympics, finishing in seventh place with a best clearance of 3.66 metres. Four years later at the 1928 Amsterdam Games he only cleared 3.50 metres to finish in equal-tenth place. Henrijean was only 37-years-old when he died of a heart attack in October 1940.
