Biography

Petrus Carolus “Karel” Melis was a Belgian track and field athlete who represented Scaldis AC. Melis specialised in long-distance running and competed in the marathon at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics. He finished in 27th place out of the 35 athletes to complete the course and was awarded with a diploma for finishing the race within 25% of the winning time.
