As a member of the Royal Racing Club de Bruxelles sprinter François Morren won ten Belgian titles in three events. Morren won his first national title in 1919 with victory in the 400 metres and went on to win five more consecutive titles in the same event. He also won the 200 metres title in 1920 and three titles in the 800 metres (1922–24). He improved the Belgian record in the 800 metres in 1922 when he ran 1:56.9 seconds.
Morren ran in the 400 metres at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics where he reached the quarter-finals. He was also part of the Belgian quartet that finished in sixth place in the 4 × 400 metres relay in Antwerpen. Four years later he ran in the semi-finals of the 800 metres at the 1924 Paris Olympics.
