Biography

Belgian athlete Auguste Vos was a multiple national champion and record holder in both the shot put and discus throw. At the start of his career Vos competed in the shot put at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, finishing 20th out of a field of 22 athletes. The same year he won his first national title in the discipline, and he went on to win a further five shot put titles (1929–32, 1935), along with ten national titles in the discus (1931–38, 1941–42). Vos set Belgian records in both events, with the shot put record standing from 1928 until 1934 and his discus record standing from 1932 until 1946.

Personal Best: SP – 13.51 (1937).
