Gustave Wuyts competed in the shot put in athletics at the 1920 Olympics, placing 18th in the qualifying round. He was also entered in the discus throw but did not start. Wuyts’ brother, Desiré Wuyts, competed in the tug-of-war at Antwerpen 1920. For many years, this was also thought to be Gustave in the tug-of-war, but more recent evidence has confirmed that it was Desiré.
