Biography
Chen Baoqiu was a national record holder in the shot put. One record was set with 12.975 m in June 1936 during the preparation phase for the Berlin Olympics. There, he competed in the shot put and the discus throw, but failed to qualify for the semi-final. He was a member of the Baihong Athletics Team and of the Shanghai Jingwu Sports Association for martial arts.
