Biography

Hao Chunde was a versatile athlete from Shanghai. He won consecutive titles in the long jump and the pentathlon at the 4th and 5th National Games (1930, 1933) of the Republic of China. In 1933, Hao also set a national record with 6.91 m in the long jump. When he competed in the long jump and javelin throw at the 1936 Berlin Olympics he was probably already beyond his prime and failed to qualify for the semi-finals in both events. In 1930, Hao represented China in the Far Eastern Games.
