Fu Jincheng was an overseas Chinese from British Malaya. He attended the Jinan University in Guangzhou on the mainland, a stronghold of education for overseas Chinese. Fu’s greatest success domestically was the title in the 200 m at the 1935 National Games. He competed at the 1936 Berlin Olympics in three events but failed to qualify for the second round in all three. During this time, he may have already completed his studies at Jinan.
