Danish track and field athlete Ejner Bech represented Kolding IF where he specialised in racewalking. Bech competed in the 50km racewalk at the 1936 Berlin Olympics but did not finish the event. Outside of athletics he was a treasurer, city council member, and the chair of a school committee. Bech was only 43 when he died from complications of a blood clot.
