The highlight of Mohamed Ebeid’s track career, which began in the mid-1930s, came in 1936, when he was selected to represent Egypt in his specialty, the 400 metres, in which he already held a national record. In Berlin, he finished fourth in his round one heat and was eliminated from the competition. The following year, he became Egyptian national champion in that event, but he dropped to fourth in 1939, and World War II ended his career. A teacher by trade, he offered a prize cup in his name to university students during the late 1930s and also gave lectures on sport.
Personal Best: 400 – 49.3 (1938).
